lyrics
you and I both know what you meant when you said and I quote “monkey this up” next ill hear you say “thats just what they called those people back then” how a grown adult pretends not to know is beyond me strategic denial of history next ill hear you say you used to think just like me oh but what changed your mind, was it black on black crime? oh but what changed your mind did something happen that one time? If you actually look youll see none of this was ever great, no shit.

during the FL gubernatorial race of 2018, RD said “the last thing we need to do is monkey this up” which couldn’t be construed as anything but a racist dig at his black opponent in that race. I got pissed and wrote a song about that guy and his type who say shit like “oh but my grandmother says the N word all the time, is she racist?” actually yeah she is! Or the argument “but what about black on black crime, and Chicago?” in response to police killing unarmed people of color. Bullshit apologist arguments if you ask me.
